Meet Angel Lester!
Angel is originally from New Orleans and moved to Tickfaw in 1986. She is the middle child and has two brothers. She attended and graduated from Independence High School in 1993. She has two sons, Dalton (26) and Gage (24). She also has a grandson, Ben (4), whom she cares for. And she has two dogs and 2 cats!
We want to thank Angel for spending some time with us and letting us get to know about her life and her love of the area.
Q: What led you to your current career?
A: I am a massage therapist and my company name is Angel's Healing Grounds. I have been doing elite home massages since 2006. I like to help people and love to see my clients feel better after a massage.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the area, and what do you like to get there?
A: Albasha and I order the combo plate.
Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?
A: Going swimming in Lake Pontchartrain with my Mom.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Egypt! I’ve always wanted to see the pyramids.
Q: What is your favorite movie? What is the first movie you saw in a theater?
A: My favorite movie is Serendipity. The first movie in the theater was E.T. with my Mom when I was 5 or 6 years old.
Q: What advice would you give a group of people?
A: Don't sweat the small stuff.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: Travel to Egypt!
Q: What is your favorite music or an artist/band that you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: I saw The Eagles perform. They were great. I would like to see Stevie Nicks and Marshall Tucker Band.
Q: What current or former business makes you the most nostalgic about the area?
A: Cuco’s in Hammond Square Mall, and going to the movies and taking photos in the photobooth by Dillard’s!
Q: If you could choose one person to go to lunch with that you’ve never met, who is it and where would you go?
A: Cleopatra, I would take her to Impastato’s.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique that you love about the area?
A: How friendly people are and our culture and food.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: Married with a health studio! It would be an all natural health alternative for people's mind, body and soul. Also with more grandbabies!
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you (even friends or family)?
A: I have a feather collection. I would say I have over 1000 bird feathers that I have found or have been given to me. I have a blue feather tattoo on my wrist.
Q: What is a word or phrase that comes to mind when you think of the word “Home”?
A: Home is where the heart is.
Q: If you could have a full-time staff member that is fully paid for, what would that be? (Chef, housekeeper, driver, coach, personal trainer, etc.)
A: I want two! A chef and housekeeper.
Q: Most commonly used emoji?
A: The purple heart
Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A: The ability to fly.
Q: Do you have a hobby?
A: Painting with a Twist and belly dancing.
Q: What is something you are most proud of?
A: My kids and grandson.
Who would YOU like for us to get to know?
We love meeting, knowing, and working with our community, and we love working with homes and all types of properties.
