Meet Brittany Polezcek!
Brittany grew up in Hammond. She attended Holy Ghost Catholic School and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 2002. She then attended Southeastern Louisiana University and graduated from The Aveda Institute Covington. She proposed to her husband, Curtis, in 2004. And in 2007 they were married. They have 2 children, Zoie (12) and Tucker (11). They actually got divorced in 2014, but then reconciled and got back together in 2015. They have 3 horses, a mini horse, 3 donkeys, chickens and 2 dogs.
Brittany is a Regional Manager for Mosaic. She travels two weeks out of the month.
We want to thank Brittany for spending some time with us and letting us get to know about her life and her love of the area.
Q: What led you to your current career?
A: I worked at Lakeview Hospital for about 10 years as a precertification specialist. I wasn't happy. I decided it was time to make a change and landed a job with Google as a Field Technician. I did that for about four years, then had the opportunity to move to Mosaic. I was a Territory Manager for two years before I was promoted to Regional Manager where I lead a team. I love it.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the area, and what do you like to get there?
A: I love Joe's Italian Ristorante - I order the lasagna. I also love La Carreta's street tacos.
Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?
A: Going on fishing trips with my parents. We would salt water fish at Shell Beach and Grand Isle.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Greece, Italy and Sicily. They all look so beautiful.
Q: What is your favorite movie? What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?
A: The original Little Mermaid. Such a classic.
Q: What advice would you give a group of people?
A: Be yourself.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: Travel more.
Q: What is your favorite type of music? Who is an artist or band that you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: I love country and bluegrass music. I'd like to see Pink and Lady Gaga perform.
Q: What current or former business makes you the most nostalgic about the area?
A: I don't know what it was called, but my grandparents would bring their packaged peppers that they grew to sell. It was by the Hammond Feed and Seed store. Also Guy's Grocery. My Maw Maw and I would go there and get green olives and fresh Italian sausage.
Q: If you could choose one person to go to lunch with that you’ve never met, who is it?
A: Sylvester Stallone, I would love to hear his life story!
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique that you love about the area?
A: How Hammond has remained small and quaint.
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you (even friends or family)?
A: I am a big time gamer. I love Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.
Q: What is a word or phrase that comes to mind when you think of the word “Home”?
A: Warmth and comfortable.
Q: If you could have a full-time staff member that is fully paid for, what would that be? (Chef, housekeeper, driver, coach, personal trainer, etc.)
A: A chef!
Q: If you had to choose one type of cuisine to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Italian, I could eat pasta everyday.
Q: What do you do when you are alone in your car?
A: Think in silence. It is my time to unwind.
Q: What is the last gift you gave and received?
A: The last gift I gave was a gift card to Starbucks for someone's birthday. The last gift I received was dinner for my birthday.
Q: What are you known for?
A: My outstanding, glowing personality. My humor.
Q: What is your favorite 90s jam?
A: This is a hard one! No Diggity by Blackstreet.
Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
A: To be invisible, to get away from my kids!
Q: What are some of your hobbies?
A: Photography, farming, taking care of animals.
Q: What is your most commonly used emoji?
A: The middle finger or the red mad face!
Q: What are you the most proud of?
A: The life I've built for my family
Q: What two items would you take with you if you shipwrecked on a deserted island where food and water were taken care of?
A: A tent and a mirror so I can use the sun to shine in the pilot's eyes that fly over me.
Q: If you won the lottery, what would you purchase or spend money on?
A: A ranch, pay off debts, savings for my kids.
Q: What do you want your legacy to be?
A: Being able to stand on my own two feet and make something out of nothing. Strong, independent woman with drive!
