Meet Caitlin Romero!

Caitlin was born in Kenner, and moved a few times in her early life. She graduated from Northshore High School in Slidell in 2012. She attended Southeastern Louisiana University, then decided to get her Paralegal Studies degree from Baton Rouge Community College. She works at Kat Vet as the Operations Manager. She fosters many animals at all times, but she has 2 dogs, Cooper and Ollie. They are obviously both rescues!

We want to thank Caitlyn for spending some time with us and letting us get to know about her life and her love of the area.

Q: What led you to your current career?
A: I worked at Hogan Attorneys for four years, and then I got the opportunity full-time at Kat Vet. I love animals! In my role, I coordinate adoptions, organize events, arrange fosters, secure volunteers, update social media, and, of course, take care of the animals.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the area, and what do you like to get there?
A: Commodores Pizza! Their cheese breadsticks are good. I also love the chocolate bombs from The Cocoa Bean Bakery.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Washington, D.C. I have been there before, and I think the Capitol is beautiful.

Q: What is your favorite movie? What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?
A: The last two Harry Potter movies are my favorite. The first movie I remember seeing in a theater was Finding Nemo after school with friends.

Q: What advice would you give a group of people?
A: Here we go! This is life.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: To buy a car that can fit a full dog kennel.

Q: What is your favorite music or an artist/band that you would like to see?
A: I like country music like Dan + Shay. I would like to see Reba perform!

Q: What current or former business makes you the most nostalgic about the area?
A: I remember going to Berry Town Produce with my grandma to buy their frozen biscuits. She would also make her own strawberry preserves.

Q: If you could choose one person to go to lunch with, who is it and where would you go?
A: Betty White and Danny Tanner (not Bob Saget)!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique that you love about the area?
A: You can be anywhere in 10 minutes. You can go from downtown Ponchatoula to the other side of Hammond and be there quickly.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: I'm open to where life takes me!

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you (even friends or family)?
A: I really am an open book. Everyone knows most things about me or they can ask!

Q: What is a word or phrase that comes to mind when you think of the word “Home”?
A: Mortgage!

Q: If you could have a full-time staff member that is fully paid for, what would that be? (Chef, housekeeper, driver, coach, personal trainer, etc.)
A: Housekeeper, hands down!

Q: If you had to choose one type of cuisine to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Food from Asia. I love Chinese and sushi.

Q: What do you do when you are alone in your car?
A: Text or look at Facebook.

Q: What is the last gift you gave and received?
A: Last gift I gave was a calendar of cats pooping to Kathleen. We talk so much about animals pooping, it seemed fitting. Last gift I received was a tumbler that fits a full bottle of wine from Kathleen.

Q: What are you known for?
A: Being sarcastic.

Q: What is your favorite 90s jam?
A: Usher's Yeah or Burn.

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A: To be able to focus on the task at hand.

Q: What are some of your hobbies?
A: Fostering animals, dinner with friends, responding to all the questions have about/for Kat Vet!

Q: What is your most commonly used emoji?
A: Crying laughing, shrugging one, the heart with the paw, any of the ones with dogs and cats.

Q: What is something you are most proud of?
A: That I am not addicted to drugs and I have never been pregnant!

Q: What two items would you take with you if you shipwrecked on a deserted island where food and water were taken care of?
A: My 2 dogs.

Q: What is the funniest thing that happened to you recently?
A: I am fostering these 2 hilarious dogs, Robert who is a pug, and Barbara. They do crazy things all the time.

Q: If you won the lottery, what would be the first 3 things you would purchase or spend money on?
A: I would buy a nicer house in a better area, a new car and have a housekeeper that lived in her own house near mine.
