Q: What led you to your current career?
A: I’ve had plenty of construction projects where I was always waiting for someone who never showed up, or who showed up and didn’t do the job right. I knew I could do it better, so I did!
Q: What is your favorite local restaurant and what is your favorite thing to eat there?
A: I like JRucker’s House of Soul and I get the smothered pork chop.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in the area?
A: Always
Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?
A: Getting hit by a car. I know it sounds crazy. But one time, my mom locked her keys in her car and I had to ride my bike to go get a spare set. I got hit by a car on the way and woke up in the hospital. The reason it is a good memory is because if it wasn’t me, it would have been my mom that got hit. I’m glad I got to take that away from her.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Let’s say Wyoming. I’ve never been there. Seems peaceful. I’d love to ride my motorcycle out in the open there.
Q: What is your favorite movie? What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?
A: Favorite movie would be The Last Dragon. The first movie I remember seeing in a theater was Boyz n the Hood.
Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
A: Whatever you feel is right is right. Keep pushing. Don’t let anyone change your direction. They don’t know what is best for you.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: No bucket list. When I wake up, I try to do whatever moves me that day.
Q: What is your favorite music or an artist/band that you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: Sade
Q: If you could choose one person to go to lunch with, who is it?
A: Jay-Z. I’d take him to Lee’s Drive In. They have the best spaghetti.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique that you love about the area?
A: The people. Everyone is just folksy and welcoming. Everywhere you go, you know each other or have some kind of connection.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: Morocco. I might get a villa there and wear white every day.
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you (even friends or family)?
A: I play competitive dominoes and chess. I’ve played in tournaments all around the world. I learned how to play chess from a Super Nintendo game called Chess Masters.
Q: What is a word or phrase that comes to mind when you think of the word “Home”?
A: Sanctuary
Q: If you could have a full-time staff member that is fully paid for, what would that be? (Chef, housekeeper, driver, coach, personal trainer, etc.)
A: A driver. I could get more done if I didn’t have to drive myself.
Q: What is your most commonly used emoji?
A: The red mad face.
Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A: Time travel. If I could change my yesterday, I could always make my today that much better.
