Cohen Troxclair
By Ashley & Andrew LeSaicherre | December 29, 2021
Meet Cohen Troxclair!
Cohen was raised in Loranger before moving to Ponchatoula when he was 12 years old. He attended Holy Ghost Catholic School and will graduate in May 2022 from Ponchatoula High School (even though he has completed his classwork in December). Cohen is the Student Class President, Key Club President and on the Varsity Football team. He has played many positions on the team, and he likes long-snapping. He is also a peer leader at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He has a younger sister, Charley (8). And a weimaraner named Harley.
We want to thank Cohen for spending some time with us and letting us get to know about his life and his love of the area.
Q: What are you looking to do in the future?
A: I was recruited by many colleges for football, so I am in the final stages of deciding where I am going to attend school. Regardless, I would like to major in finance and maybe partner with my Dad after I graduate.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the area, and what do you like to get there?
A: Before every game I would go to Toula Burger by myself and order a Double Smash Patty with Cheddar, their House Sauce and mustard. Another restaurant I go to often is Paul's Cafe, and I always get the red beans. Both Toula Burger and Paul's know my order when I walk in.
Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?
A: When we got our dog for Christmas as a puppy. I was so happy that I cried. It was a complete surprise when I was in the 8th grade. The puppy was upstairs and everyone knew but me.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Italy. I have family that came from Sicily, and I would like to see it.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Star Wars. I like all of them, but I think the 6th one is my favorite. First movie I remember seeing in a theater was Toy Story.
Q: What advice would you give a group of people?
A: Sometimes it is okay to jump off the deep end. Go for that experience, don't be so conservative.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: Skydiving!
Q: What is your favorite music or an artist/band that you would like to see?
A: I listen to a wide variety of music! My Dad is always finding music from all over the world and playing it. I'd say my favorites are classic rock and my generation rap. I also like 90's grunge. I would have liked to see Guns N’ Roses in their prime, when they were younger.
Q: If you could choose one person to go to lunch with, who is it and where would you go?
A: Elon Musk, and we would go to Toula Burger. I would want that small town vibe where I could ask him lots of questions.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique that you love about the area?
A: The old time feel. That being said, I think it could use a little updating. It’s a fine line!
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: With a family.
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you (even friends or family)?
A: That I play the guitar. I started playing about 3 or 4 years ago, and am self-taught.
Q: What is a word or phrase that comes to mind when you think of the word “Home”?
A: Family.
Q: If you could have a full-time staff member that is fully paid for, what would that be? (Chef, housekeeper, driver, coach, personal trainer, etc.)
A: Someone to do my laundry AND put it away. I am not great at putting my clothes away!
Q: If you had to choose one type of cuisine to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
A: Vietnamese, I love pho.
Q: What do you do when you are alone in your car?
A: Blast music and sing at the top of my lungs.
Q: What is the last gift you received?
A: Last gift I received was dinner from my friend's dad, Mr. Scott Bonney. They took us to eat at Nagoya for reaching the state championship.
Q: What are you known for?
A: Talking too much!…but having good conversations.
Q: What is your favorite 90s jam?
A: Bulls on Parade by Rage Against the Machine is my hype song!
Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A: Telekinesis, being able to move things with my mind would be cool.
Q: What are some of your hobbies?
A: Hanging out with family and friends and video games with my friends.
Q: What is your most commonly used emoji?
A: Laughing crying out loud.
Q: What is something you are most proud of?
A: Who I have become through the years. I think my freshman self would be pleased with who I have become.
Q: What two items would you take with you if you shipwrecked on a deserted island where food and water were taken care of?
A: A pool table with all the balls/sticks and some clothes like swim trunks.
Q: What is the funniest thing that happened to you recently?
A: Recently, about 12 people in my family were meeting for lunch at Paul's. We were all told to be there at 12pm by my grandfather, but he didn't come until 12:30pm, so we were sitting around waiting and hungry. Everyone was getting a little annoyed, and he just told everyone the wrong time. I thought it was funny.
Q: If you won the lottery, what would be the first 3 things you would purchase or spend money on?
A: A private island, a plane to get back and forth and I would invest some (and I would help the investor, my Dad!). And I would give some to charity.
