Meet Jeannine Louviere!

Jeannine was born in Odessa and grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas. She is the youngest of four. She graduated from South Grand Prairie High School in 1999. She moved to the New Orleans area, graduated from Delgado Community College in 2006 in graphic design. In 2015, she wanted to move away from the city, and fell in love with Hammond. She is the Affiliate Coordinator at Fusion Thermal, and she loves her job.

Jeannine also started 5K Purple Run, LLC in 2021 after the loss of a good friend due to domestic violence.

She was previously on the board for Southeast Advocates for Family Empowerment (SAFE), is a member of Tangipahoa Professional Women's Organization, and attends city council meetings regularly.

She has a baker's dozen nieces and nephews, a rescue cat named Guinness, a pot-bellied pig, and chickens.

We want to thank Jeannine for spending some time with us and letting us get to know about her life and her love of the area.

Q: What led you to your current career?
A:   When I decided to move to Hammond, I got a job at K-Team Printing. It was a great place to work, and I am still friends with everyone there. I was offered a position at Fusion Thermal, and took a leap. I love how I can be creative and do marketing with a wonderful team. I have been with the company for a year, and I am looking forward to continuing with them.

The 5K Purple Run began after the loss of a friend due to domestic violence. I realized it was my calling to advocate against it. I used my strengths of networking, event planning and fitness to bring like-minded people together to bring awareness to the issue. In 2021, The Run had 100 participants and raised $1,000. In 2022, The Run had 300 participants and raised $2,000. The proceeds go to SAFE, a local nonprofit organization that assists surviors of domestic and sexual violence. We also have an event around Mother's Day and a Christmas toy drive. We were able to provide gifts to 30 children.
