Meet Julianne Mason!

Julianne grew up in Mississippi. She has been married to her husband, Cliff, for 7 years, and they have two sons together, Emmett and Tucker. Julianne, her sister, and her mom are all registered nurses. She has been in the nursing field for 11 years, and works at North Oaks Pediatric Clinics in Hammond. She has worked in different capacities as a nurse, but endoscopy and pediatrics have been her favorites.

We want to thank Julianne for spending some time with us and letting us learn about her life and family!

Q: What led you to your current career?
A: In college, I thought I wanted to do Occupational Therapy, and my roommate was applying to Nursing School. I thought, let me apply and see what happens! When I moved from Mississippi, a friend posted that North Oaks Pediatric had an opening and I applied!

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the area, and what do you like to get there?
A: I love Buddies Bar & Grill. I always get the Queen's Filet and their Creme Brulee. For our anniversary, we went to Tope La, and their Bread Pudding was amazing.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in the area?
A: We moved to Ponchatoula in 2017, and just recently moved to Springfield.

Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?
A: I had a great childhood. We spent a lot of time with our grandparents in the country. I remember driving the truck in the fields as a child, and going to town in the back of a truck! One of the reasons we moved to this area is to provide a similar childhood for our boys. We have some land, and they can spend most of their time outside while not being too far from things to do.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: I have never left the United States, so I'd love to go to Europe! Especially London.

Q: What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?
A: The first movie I saw in the theater was Aladdin with my Mom. My siblings weren't here yet, so it was a special time with just the two of us. My mom was in Nursing School, money was tight, and she still made that happen. We had to drive one and a half hours and it was during her Thanksgiving break from school. It is still one of my favorite memories with my Mom.

Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
A: Don't stress about what other people think of you. There is always someone in the crowd that wants what you have to offer.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: To travel and see the places I have read about in Europe!

Q: What is your favorite music or an artist/band that you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: Aerosmith is my favorite! They put on an amazing show. I would also have liked to see The Rolling Stones.

Q: If you could choose one person to go to lunch with that you’ve never met, dead or alive, who is it and where would you go?
A: I would want to go to The Hollywood Brown Derby in Hollywood with Lucille Ball. She lived such a life!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique that you love about the area?
A: I love the festivals! The sense of community. When I was 5 years old, my Mom brought us to The Strawberry Festival and we had the best time. I always thought it was so neat that I lived in Ponchatoula after all that time.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: I would still love to be working at North Oaks Pediatrics, and moving up within the company. We will still be in the area. We love it here, and are very content with life.

Q: What is a word or phrase that comes to mind when you think of the word “Home”?
A: Definitely family. It doesn't matter where we live, as long as they are close.

Q: If you could have a full-time staff member that is fully paid for, what would that be? (Chef, housekeeper, driver, coach, personal trainer, etc.)
A: A live in housekeeper! A clean house makes me happy.

Q: What is your most commonly used emoji?
A: The laughing emoji to the side

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A: Super speed. Taking 2 minutes in the grocery store, and 30 seconds to bathe the kids!
