Meet Kasse Whatley!

Kasse is originally from Oklahoma! She met her husband, Joel, in the Army in 2008 while deployed. They got married in 2009 and she moved to Ponchatoula. Together they have two daughters, Lyla (11) and Nadia (8).

We want to thank Kasse for spending some time with us and letting us get to know about her life and her love of the area.

Q: What led you to your current career?
A: I have a few jobs! I am in the Army National Guard, I have an online business, Adaline Rose, and I am a stay-at-home Mom. I’ve been in the military for my whole adult life, so it just seems natural that I would join the Army National Guard. I love to shop, so I enjoy curating certain products for others to enjoy.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the area, and what do you like to get there?
A: I love Toula Burger's sweet potato fries.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in the area?
A: We have been here since 2009 when we moved for my husband's job.

Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?
A: Playing outside while visiting my grandfather.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Singapore! There is a hotel/casino called Marina Bay Sands that has a ship on top of it. I want to see that in person! We also love Germany! I would like to go back there.

Q: What is your favorite movie? What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?
A: Labyrinth with David Bowie. First movie I saw in a theater was The Care Bears Movie when I was 4 years old. I went with a group while at camp.

Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
A: "At some point, we all have to choose, between what the world wants you to be, and who you are." -Natasha Romanoff from the movie The Black Widow

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: Visit more National Parks.

Q: What is your favorite music or an artist/band that you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: I love oldies music from the 1950's and 1960's. I would love to see Sam Cook, Tom Petty and Kiss perform

Q: If you could choose one person to go to lunch with that you’ve never met, who is it and where would you go?
A: Kim Jong Un. I would love to understand why things are done the way they are over there.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique that you love about the area?
A: That we are in between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. And we are a few hours away from nice beaches.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: In Ponchatoula, but also traveling around the world!

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you (even friends or family)?
A: I have a really good memory. I remember a lot of small details about many things.

Q: What is a word or phrase that comes to mind when you think of the word “Home”?
A: Joel, the kids and our pets.

Q: If you could have a full-time staff member that is fully paid for, what would that be? (Chef, housekeeper, driver, coach, personal trainer, etc.)
A: A housekeeper who also drives me.

Q: Most commonly used emoji?
A: The winking face

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A: To teleport like Dr. Strange

Q: Do you have a hobby?
A: Shopping and doing water color painting.
