Meet Brittany Prieur!

Brittany was raised in Harahan, and graduated from nursing school in May 2020. She works at Ochsner Baptist in the Mother/Baby unit where she takes great care of her patients. She is the youngest of 3 children and has a furbaby, a Maltese named Bruiser.

We want to thank Brittany for spending some time with us and letting us learn about her life and family!

Q: What led you to your current career?
A: I am a nurse in the Mother/Baby unit at Ochsner Baptist. We have many nurses in our family. My mom is a nurse, an aunt is a nurse, and my brother and I graduated from nursing school together. I have loved babies my whole life, and I love giving back and helping people.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the area, and what do you like to get there?
A: Rock-n-Sake for their Volcano Roll! And I love the margaritas from Superior Grill.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Greece! We were supposed to go there after we graduated from nursing school, but we had to cancel due to COVID.

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Forrest Gump.

Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
A: Be positive! Be the optimist in every situation. You never know what someone is going through. Always be kind.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: I would love to go skydiving!

Q: What is your favorite music or an artist/band that you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: Drake! I have seen him twice and I would love to see him again.

Q: What current or former business makes you the most nostalgic about the area?
A: I have always done Sunday Brunches with my girlfriends. Broussard's Restaurant and Courtyard Jazz Brunch brings back great memories.

Q: If you could choose one person to go to lunch with that you’ve never met and is alive today, who is it and where would you go?
A: Definitely Drake. We would go somewhere in Fiji with a beautiful skyline.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique that you love about the area?
A: That you can drink anywhere and it doesn't matter what day or time!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: Married, at least 2 kids, living in Louisiana. I would love to own a boutique and while still being a nurse.

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you (even friends or family)?
A: When I was in Pre-K, my brother was walking me to class, and I hit my head on a corner of a wall and cracked my forehead open. You can still feel the indention!

Q: What is a word or phrase that comes to mind when you think of the word “Home”?
A: Family.

Q: If you could have a full-time staff member that is fully paid for, what would that be? (Chef, housekeeper, driver, coach, personal trainer, etc.)
A: A glam squad on call. I wouldn't need it everyday.

Q: Most commonly used emoji?
A: The blush face with 3 hearts.

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A: Being able to teleport to different places.

Q: Do you have a hobby?
A: I love fashion, so shopping both online and in person.

Q: What is something you are most proud of?
A: My family roots. Where I am from and how I was raised.
