We want to thank Brooke for spending some time with us and letting us get to know about her life and her love of the area.

Q: What led you to your current career?
A: When I was in college, my focus was to go to graduate school to become an Occupational Therapist. I applied, and wasn't accepted. I didn't know where to go from there, so I decided to sing some songs and put them on YouTube (I had always sung at church). I was contacted by my now-manager to see if I would be interested in going to Nashville to write and perform music. In 2017, I wrote 4 songs. And in 2018, I signed with Burtonwood Records. I went on a national tour with about 40 shows. I loved it and I learned a lot about the business and myself.

One of my songs, 'Taking My Voice Back', is my story of how I was abused when I was a child. It was a process writing and releasing that song because no one knew what happened. I had to tell my family. I also called my abuser and told him I forgave him, and God forgave and loved him. Once it was released, the messages came flooding in from people who experienced the same pain. It became more of a ministry than music.
