Meet Casey Moll!

Casey was born in Covington and raised in Franklinton with his younger brother. He graduated from Hammond High School in 2010 and attended Southeastern Louisiana University. He spends his days at Cabinets & Countertops Unlimited where he works with customers, showing them their final drawings before the countertops are cut and installed.

He has been married to JoyBeth since 2018, and they have 3 cats (Tigger, Sushi Roll and Coco Puff) and Maisel, a sweet dog rescue from Kat Vet. They also volunteer and foster litters of kittens to assist Kat Vet.
He grew up very involved with his church, where he is still very active. He and his wife attend The Pentecostals of Lee Road assisting with youth ministry. Mission trips are a big part of their lives, and they have been to Singapore, Malaysia and Hawaii.

We want to thank Casey for spending some time with us and letting us get to know about his life and his love of the area.

Q: What led you to your current career?
A: My father is a licensed contractor, so growing up we were always helping him on jobsites, especially every summer. He purchased Cabinets & Countertops Unlimited, and I started working there. I really like working with people, and making sure they have thought about every detail of what their countertop will look like before we install it.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the area, and what do you like to get there?
A: We like to think of ourselves as "foodies". I think we have eaten at every local restaurant in Hammond and Ponchatoula. We try to stay local versus going to a chain restaurant. We love Asian food. I would have to say my favorite restaurant, though, is Punjabi Dhaba. Everything is good there, but I order the butter chicken. We also like Lee's Diner. I order the chicken tenders and burgers there.

Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?
A: I really enjoyed growing up with dogs and playing with them outside. We had a Dalmatian and a Golden Retriever. We lived in the country, and I just remember playing and running with them. Also, playing sports with my brother was a great memory.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Singapore. We have many friends there. It isn't possible to go there now, so maybe that makes it more appealing!

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: The Star Wars series and Marvel movies are my favorites. The first movie I remember seeing in a movie theater was Shrek with my family on vacation.

Q: What advice would you give a group of people?
A: Don't be afraid to be yourself. There is only one you in the world. Be you.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: Travel to all 50 states.

Q: What is your favorite music or an artist/band that you would like to see?
A: I really like the music in the play Hamilton. I never have enjoyed that style of music, but I love it. I am also a history nerd.

Q: What current or former business makes you the most nostalgic about the area?
A: I really like how the Hammond DDD restores and keeps downtown growing. With their events, like the farmers market, it keeps the community involved.

Q: If you could choose one person to go to lunch with, who is it and where would you go?
A: Tiger Woods. I am a big sports and golf fan, and he has dealt with so much. We would eat at his restaurant in Jupiter, Florida.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique that you love about the area?
A: Everything I need is close by. I like that New Orleans and Baton Rouge are close, so we could explore cities. I think Hammond has some of the best food.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: Hopefully still doing children's ministry in more places, reaching more people. Still happily married to JoyBeth.

Q: What is a word or phrase that comes to mind when you think of the word “Home”?
A: Family.

Q: If you could have a full-time staff member that is fully paid for, what would that be? (Chef, housekeeper, driver, coach, personal trainer, etc.)
A: A full-time chef!

Q: If you had to choose one type of cuisine to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Mexican food.

Q: What do you do when you are alone in your car?
A: Listen to podcasts, mostly sports podcasts. I also like learning and listening to other people's opinions that may not think like me.

Q: What is the last gift you gave and received?
A: Gifts are not our love language, we would much rather go to a museum and go out to eat. But the last gift I gave was Taco Bell to JoyBeth. Last gift I received was a handmade tie that JoyBeth made for me.

Q: What are you known for?
A: Children's ministry and having a lot of cats at our house!

Q: What is your favorite 90s jam?
A: The Disney Lion King soundtrack.

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A: To teleport, I would like to travel in an instant.

Q: What are some of your hobbies?
A: Volunteering with Kat Vet. I love watching LSU sports, basketball and football. I love the Saints. I also play fantasy football. I play golf, I have played on about 90% of the courses in southeast Louisiana. I consider children's ministry a hobby also. I know how to juggle through it!

Q: What is your most commonly used emoji?
A: Laughing face or the face palm ones.

Q: What is something you are most proud of?
A: Getting into children's ministry. Also, our time overseas- seeing results of us being there and the changes we have had on people's lives.

Q: What two items would you take with you if you shipwrecked on a deserted island where food and water were taken care of?
A: My house and JoyBeth.

Q: What is the funniest thing that happened to you recently?
A: I was acting out a Bible story to kids at church, and I was using a light saber as a prop for a sword and I hit a stuffed Sven from Frozen. And all the kids got very upset that I hurt Sven. I had to take a time out and say ok, this is a stuffed animal, and I am just pretending.

Q: If you won the lottery, what would be the first 3 things you would purchase or spend money on?
A: I would buy our dream house, save some and adopt a child from Asia.
