Meet Josh Randall!

Josh is a Springfield native and is the Production Manager of The Document Source on Southeastern Louisiana University’s campus. He is the proud father to two daughters, Kaitlynn (17) and Samantha (16), and husband to Tracy.

We want to thank Josh for spending some time with us…on his birthday!…to tell us more about his life and his passion for his local community.

Q: What led you to your current career?
A: Whatever I do, wherever I’m at, I give it my all. I landed here from Springfield High. I was helping with a project to get a book about all of the past SHS students, and they sent me to The Document Source to get it printed and bound. When I got there, I had some knowledge that impressed the staff and they offered me a job. I started working here the Monday after I graduated high school. I tried a few other things, but ultimately found my way back and have been here since 2012.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the area, and what do you like to get there?
A: I love Our Mom’s and I get the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in the area?
A: Forever! I’ve lived on the same piece of property for my entire life.

Q: What is your favorite childhood memory?
A: My junior and senior years of high school. I loved that environment, always being involved and active with my friends. It was a special time.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: I’d go to the Grand Canyon. I’ve never been there, and I know there a lot of cool destinations in the world, but I like to appreciate what our great country has to offer. I want to see not only the Grand Canyon, but I want to drive there and see everything along the way.

Q: What is your favorite movie? What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?
A: My favorite movie currently is The Martian. I can’t remember the first movie I saw in a theater, but definitely the one that stands out the most is seeing Jurassic Park at the theater that was in the old Hammond Square Mall. I just remember being so immersed in it, and I came out in the parking lot and was looking into all of the trees that used to be out there and just thinking…what might be in there!?

Q: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?
A: When you look at the American flag, it’s not about the fabric, and it is not about the colors. It is about the space in between. That space between people is what is most important, and I feel like we are allowing that space to become too great. We need to get back to coming together and living with and for one another.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: I want to Jeep the West. New Mexico, Utah, California. Just go on a long trip where I drive my Jeep to all of these incredible places.

Q: What is your favorite music or an artist/band that you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: 12 Stones. They are a local band that made it big a few years back, and I really enjoy them.

Q: What current or former business makes you the most nostalgic about the area?
A: Hi-Ho!

Q: If you could choose one person to go to lunch with that you’ve never met and is alive today, who is it and where would you go?
A: Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique that you love about the area?
A: I love downtown Hammond. It has such a cool atmosphere with all of the restaurants and is perfect for just walking around and taking it all in.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: The Document Source. Making copies for a living.

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you (even friends or family)?
A: I only have one pectoral muscle. I was born without my right one.

Q: What is a word or phrase that comes to mind when you think of the word “Home”?
A: A house does not make a home

Q: If you could have a full-time staff member that is fully paid for, what would that be? (Chef, housekeeper, driver, coach, personal trainer, etc.)
A: A herald! Someone that would literally go ahead of me and announce my arrival or anything that I’m doing! I don’t think that would ever get old!

Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A: Super strength

Q: What is your most-commonly used emoji?
A: The American flag! Next would be the one you get if you type in “LOL”. The scrunchy-faced smiley.
